An introductory course for seniors 50 years+ presented by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSULB in cooperation with Signal Hill Senior Services.
Are you overwhelmed? Do you notice recurring physical discomfort in your body? This experiential class will give you the opportunity to slow down and come back to yourself. We’ll gently explore our own habitual physical and mental responses by way of simple, everyday movements (i.e. sitting, standing, walking, lying down). An introduction to the principles of the Alexander Technique
Increasing body awareness and awareness of the self as a whole and of habitual patterns of tension
Experimenting with tools for improved physical coordination, relaxation & stress reduction
